Tell your Senators: The hardest hit communities can’t wait another decade!Climate Change

Passing a climate and energy bill this year is urgent, and the recently introduced Kerry-Lieberman climate bill is a good start.

The good news is the bill reduces US global warming emissions and assists the world’s poorest to build resilience to the impacts of climate change. The bad news is assistance for the world’s poorest is extremely low — and wouldn't kick in for almost 10 years!

In the span of 10 years, the water sources for entire communities could dry up. In 10 years, another natural disaster could hit a coastal community, forcing its people to uproot and rebuild. In 10 years, scarce resources will grow even more limited.

Please tell your senators to pass a comprehensive climate and energy bill this year – one that will help the world’s most vulnerable communities build solutions today, not in 10 years!
